ERRIC's contribution to the HPC (High Performance Computing) laboratory

Server chassis for x86 CISC and RISC servers (2 pieces):
  • rack-mountable chassis, max 10U, supporting at least 14 servers with CISC x86 processors
  • redundant connectors, hot-swap for each blade server, switches, administration modules
  • redundant power, hot-swap 
  • internal switches Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, 8Gbps Fibre Channel, InfiniBand 4x QDR
  • 2 x Switch Gigabit Ethernet, hot-swap, redundant powered. Routing support for at least EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and PIM.
  • 1 x switch Infiniband 40 Gb having at least 4 X 14 X internal ports supporting QDR/DDR/SDR
  • minimum 16 external ports “auto-sensing”/”auto-negotiation” 4X QDR/DDR/SDR InfiniBand QSFP
x86 servers (14 pieces):
  • 2 x CISC x86 six-core processors,  having a mininimum frequency of 2.93 GHz, minimum 12 MB L3 cache
  • 32 GB PC3-10600 1333MHz ECC DDR3, ChipKill support, memory mirroring, minimum 12 slots of internal memory
  • 2 x 146GB HDD, SAS 6Gbps, 10000 RPM, hot-swap, RAID 1 hardware
RISC/EPIC servers (8 pieces):
  • 2 x RISC/EPIC octo-core processors, minimum core frequency 2.20 GHz, minimum 32 MB L3 cache for each processor
  • Minimum certified performance level: 
    SPECfp_rate2006         = 760
    SPECfp_rate_base2006 = 700
  • 32 GB DDR3, ChipKill support, memory mirroring, minimum 16  slots of internal memory
  • Minimum 1 x 300GB HDD, SAS, 10000 RPM
